What it takes
First things first. We recruit graduates from all disciplines who have at least a 2:2 or equivalent, not just those with a surveying/construction-related degree.
In our experience, non-cognates enrich our environment by bringing different skills and perspectives. This is why they are treated as favourably as cognates, with financial support to undertake conversions courses (either a Postgraduate Diploma or an MSc studied via Day Release or Distance Learning) and on-the-job coaching to overcome any knowledge gaps.
Non-cognates can begin their APC while undertaking the conversion course, so developing their career at the same rate as cognates. But it's not just your qualifications that we're interested in. We look for confident, numerate and analytical team players with first-class communication skills, a 'can-do' attitude plus the drive and determination to succeed. Most importantly you'll have a thirst for knowledge and willingness to listen and learn from others. It's not all work, so a sense of fun and great social skills are an advantage.
